The Titleist GT1 hybrid has found its way into the bags of PGA Tour players including Cameron Young.
Cameron Young added the club at the Farmers Insurance Open for its versatility out of the rough and extra launch. The oversized profile sits between a traditional hybrid and a high-lofted fairway wood with a sharp leading edge designed to cut through turf. It accepts both .370-inch hybrid shafts and .335-inch fairway wood shafts, with the Fujikura Air Speeder offered as standard. Gear editor Jack Hirsh tested the 20-degree model after a fitting at the Titleist Performance Institute and reported 3 mph higher ball speed, 20 feet more peak height and 300 rpm more spin than his previous hybrid. The club replaced his gamer for several rounds and produced clean turf interaction on firm lies. Hirsh noted the ability to adjust trajectory from high draws to flattened shots into the wind.
