Tom Holland cites dyslexia in declining SNL hosting offers

Tom Holland has explained why he has turned down multiple invitations to host Saturday Night Live. The actor discussed his dyslexia during a recent appearance on Amy Poehler's podcast.

Tom Holland revealed on the podcast Good Hang that he has declined several offers to host Saturday Night Live. He attributed the decisions to his dyslexia and concerns about reading cue cards during live broadcasts. 'I'm heavily dyslexic,' Holland said. He added that he feels 'petrified at the concept of, like, trying to read something' on air, noting a mental block when reading aloud despite being able to read silently. Holland said he prepares for table reads by highlighting lines in advance to skim rather than read them fully. He expressed admiration for the show and its creative format but maintained that the cue cards remain a barrier. Poehler noted that SNL has worked with challenging hosts in the past. Holland's fiancée Zendaya has also never hosted the program, along with several other Marvel actors.
