Tommy Lee Jones joins 'The Lowdown' season 2 opposite Ethan Hawke

Tommy Lee Jones has been cast in season 2 of FX's 'The Lowdown,' starring alongside Ethan Hawke. The Western-noir series, created by Sterlin Harjo, begins production this spring in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It also features newcomer Betty Gilpin.

Tommy Lee Jones has joined the cast of season 2 of 'The Lowdown,' an FX series from 'Reservation Dogs' creator Sterlin Harjo. He will appear opposite Ethan Hawke, with Betty Gilpin joining as a series newcomer. Production is set to start this spring in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The show centers on Lee Raybon, a citizen journalist and self-proclaimed 'truthstorian.' His exposé on the powerful Washberg family draws him into a local conspiracy. Following the publication of his article, the suspicious suicide of Dale Washberg prompts Lee to investigate further.

Season 1 of 'The Lowdown' starred Keith David and included guest appearances by Kyle MacLachlan, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Tim Blake Nelson, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Michael 'Killer Mike' Render, Kaniehtiio Horn, Tracy Letts, Peter Dinklage, and Graham Greene. The series is executive produced by Harjo, Garrett Basch, Hawke, Ryan Hawke, Duffy Boudreau, and Scott Teems. It is produced by FX Productions, with all episodes available to stream on Hulu.

Jones, an Oscar winner for his role as U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard in the 1993 film 'The Fugitive,' has received Academy Award nominations for 'JFK,' 'Lincoln,' and 'In the Valley of Elah.' His film debut was in 'Love Story,' and he is known for roles in 'No Country for Old Men,' 'Batman Forever,' 'Rules of Engagement,' the 'Men in Black' movies, 'Ad Astra,' 'Jason Bourne,' and 'The Burial' opposite Jamie Foxx. He is represented by CAA, Viewpoint, and Jacobson, Russell, Saltz, Nassim & De La Torre.
