Former senator Edgardo Kueider faces a trial that begins this Monday in Paraguay. He was detained along with his girlfriend after trying to enter the country with a backpack containing US$200,000 without declaring it.
The arrests took place in December 2024. Both came from Brazil when Paraguayan authorities detained them over the undeclared money.
Kueider was a legislator for the province of Entre Ríos before these events.
