The Winx Club franchise is expanding with a new video game tied to its recent reboot. Winx Club: The Magic is Back will launch on April 30, 2026, across PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch platforms. This marks the first new installment in the gaming series in nearly a decade.
Winx Club, a magical girl cartoon that premiered in 2004 as a Rainbow production and later joined the Nick Toons lineup, follows characters who transform into fairy warriors. The series gained popularity in the 2000s alongside shows like The Fairly OddParents and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
A reboot titled Winx Club: The Magic is Back debuted late in 2025, airing new episodes. Building on this revival, the video game of the same name was announced in late 2025. Developed by Maximum Entertainment, it promises players will “experience the magic like never before.”
The game features all six Winx Club members as playable characters, allowing switches between them to use unique magical abilities for solving puzzles and defeating monsters. Key locations include The Enhanced Forest and Alfea College. Players can explore solo or in multiplayer mode, including couch co-op, while facing the evil Trix. Rated E for Everyone, it suits both longtime fans and newcomers.
Previous Winx Club games were often platform-specific, with the last release being the 2017 Xbox exclusive Winx Club: Alfea Butterflix Adventures. This multiplatform approach on PC via Steam, PS5, and Nintendo Switch represents a shift. Wishlisting is available now on Steam and the PlayStation Store.
