Amazon's ranking of its top selling books since 1995 shows women writers holding nine of the top ten positions. The Hunger Games series leads the chart.
The number one spot belongs to The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Two other books in the dystopian series, Mockingjay and Catching Fire, rank at numbers four and five.
E.L. James follows closely with the Fifty Shades trilogy occupying positions three, seven and ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling sits at number two.
The sole nonfiction title in the top ten is StrengthsFinder 2.0 by Tom Rath. Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale and Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl round out the list at numbers eight and nine.
