In the interview, D'Angelo described Michaels as both mentor and boss. He noted that Michaels provides extensive guidance on matches, promos and film work, describing the input as an endless source of knowledge.
D'Angelo credited Michaels with helping him understand the responsibilities of being champion and the face of the brand. He also mentioned maturing through this guidance following his return to NXT in December 2025.
D'Angelo won the NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver 2026 in a four-way match against Joe Hendry.
