Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a new permit for installing set elements in the former MuppetVision 3D theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, signaling progress on the Monstropolis land. The building will become 'The Glob,' hosting a theatrical show based on Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. This conversion is part of a larger expansion replacing the Muppet Courtyard with new attractions, including Disney’s first suspended coaster.
Construction crews have installed the initial supports for Disney's first suspended coaster, part of the upcoming Monsters Inc. Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The massive structure is visible from the park's parking lot. The land is slated to open in 2027.
