Bäckström bleibt trotz Verletzung eine weitere Saison bei Brynäs

Der erfahrene Center Nicklas Bäckström wird auch in der Spielzeit 2026/2027 für Brynäs IF auflaufen. Der Verein bestätigte, dass keine der beiden Parteien die Option zur vorzeitigen Vertragsbeendigung gezogen hat. Aufgrund seiner andauernden Rehabilitation bleibt der Zeitplan für eine Rückkehr auf das Eis jedoch ungewiss.

Brynäs IF gab am Donnerstag bekannt, dass der 38-jährige Bäckström seinen Platz im SHL-Kader behält, nachdem sich weder Spieler noch Verein gegen das Optionsjahr entschieden haben. Der ehemalige NHL-Star kehrte nach seiner Karriere in Nordamerika in der vergangenen Saison zum Team zurück und nimmt sowohl auf als auch neben dem Eis eine Schlüsselrolle ein.
