Yankees first baseman Ben Rice and Nationals outfielder James Wood have been named the American League and National League Players of the Week.
Rice batted 11-for-26 with five home runs and 12 RBIs over seven games. His performance included a 1.577 OPS and helped the Yankees finish the first half with a 5-2 record.
Wood went 10-for-20 with five home runs, eight RBIs and 11 runs scored in six games. He leads the NL with 89 runs and tops the league in on-base percentage, slugging, OPS and OPS+.
Both players earned their second Player of the Week award this season. Rice previously received the honor on June 1 while Wood earned his first on April 13.
Rice, a first-time All-Star, is set to participate in the Home Run Derby on Monday and start at first base for the AL in the All-Star Game.
