Dell revives Precision Pro laptops and launches new Pro lineup

Dell has reintroduced its Precision Pro business laptops alongside a new series of slim Dell Pro models, a compact Pro 5 Micro PC, and a conferencing monitor. The company emphasizes portability with its thinnest and lightest laptops to date, featuring a new configurable motherboard for customization. Most products will ship in May, with the Pro 5 Micro available from March 31.

Dell announced the return of its Precision Pro laptops, starting with the Precision Pro 5 in 14- and 16-inch models. These support Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 Panther Lake CPUs and optional Nvidia Pro Blackwell discrete GPUs. Shipments begin in May, though pricing remains undisclosed. Dell officials highlighted a new motherboard design that allows multiple chassis configurations, similar to a car frame adapted for different bodies, to meet varied business needs and streamline production. The broader Dell Pro lineup includes the Pro 3, Pro 5, and Pro 7 models, all available in May. The Pro 3 offers 14- and 16-inch versions with 1,920x1,200-pixel displays, Intel Core Ultra Series 3 or AMD Ryzen Series 400 processors, up to 64GB of memory, and 2TB SSDs, weighing 2.9 pounds. The Pro 5 steps up with options like Intel Core Ultra X7 368H vPro or AMD Ryzen AI 5 Pro 435, plus enhanced graphics, at over 4 pounds. The Pro 7, Dell's slimmest at 2.6 pounds, comes in 13- and 14-inch clamshell and 2-in-1 variants with similar high-end specs. Complementing these, the Dell Pro 5 Micro PC measures 7 inches by 7 inches and weighs just over 2 pounds, packing up to Intel Core Ultra 7 366H vPro, 64GB DDR5 RAM, and 1TB SSD. It supports up to five monitors but lacks a built-in screen. Availability starts March 31. The Dell Pro P 34 Hub Conferencing Monitor, priced at $750 and available now, features a 3,440x1,440-pixel display at 100Hz, a 5-megapixel Sony Starvis webcam with AI auto-focusing, dual speakers, and multiple ports including HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, and Ethernet.
