Walt Disney World has submitted a permit application for a new backstage parking lot at Typhoon Lagoon water park. The project includes a roadway and stormwater management features in the area behind Crush ‘n’ Gusher.
The permit, filed with the South Florida Water Management District, describes a fenced-in gravel parking lot intended for Cast Members. It also outlines two dry retention ponds and four conveyance swales with ditch blocks for stormwater control.
The filing comes as Typhoon Lagoon prepares for its annual seasonal closure on September 9. Blizzard Beach will remain open during that period.
The new lot could allow current Cast Member parking to shift to guest use, addressing increased attendance at the water park this summer. Construction timing remains unspecified pending further details.
