Djurgården started strong, taking a 2-0 lead in the first period against Örebro. Charles Hudon netted the second goal, assisted by Jacob Josefson, marking Hudon's fourth goal in three matches and his seventh in 13 games. However, Örebro fought back to tie the score at 2-2 by the end of the period.
In the second period, Djurgården fell behind 3-2 early on. Head coach Robert Kimby called a timeout to refocus the team. "Egentligen påminna om det som vi pratade om inför perioden. Det är de här klassiska sakerna, att flytta pucken lite snabbare, ligga lite närmare dem i egen zon, lite aggressivare och äga de situationer vi kan äga," Kimby said post-game.
Mathias Emilio Pettersen tied the game at 3-3 with a power-play goal. Håvard Salsten then scored his second of the night to make it 4-3. The line of Albin Grewe, Salsten, and Pettersen combined for three of Djurgården's five goals. Colby Sissons added the 5-3 tally on another power play, assisted by Joe Snively.
Goaltender Magnus Hellberg earned a 7-star rating from analyst Mattias Ek, highlighted by a key penalty save with 2:55 left at 4-3. Kylington, playing over 17 minutes alongside Philip Holm, impressed in his debut. "Jag tycker att han växer in i den... en bra start," Kimby noted.
Djurgården scratched August Berg, Hugo Blixt, Jesse Ylönen, and Viggo Björck, with Valtteri Pulli as the seventh defenseman but unused. The victory follows a 3-1 win over Brynäs, bringing clarity to the lineup. Standout ratings included 8 stars for Hudon, Salsten, and Pettersen.
