Florida man arrested after passing out with child and guns

Deputies in Florida arrested a 26-year-old man after finding him asleep in his pickup truck at a gas station with his 5-year-old son in the back and unsecured guns nearby.

Patrick Voegtly was taken into custody at a Shell station in Plant City shortly before 8 p.m. on Thursday. Deputies said the boy sat alone in the backseat while his father was passed out in the driver's seat. Body camera footage captured the child telling officers that his father was simply sleeping. Two guns were found on the scene, one on Voegtly's hip and another under the seat.
