Florida woman arrested after Costco fight involving ax multitool

Valeria Aguilar, 29, was arrested following a confrontation at a Miami Costco gas station that escalated into a physical altercation with another shopper wielding an ax multitool. Police charged her with burglary with assault or battery after she allegedly punched and scratched the other woman. Both sustained lacerations in the incident.

The altercation unfolded on Wednesday at the Costco warehouse gas station in Miami, Florida. According to an arrest affidavit, Aguilar was fueling her vehicle when she began screaming at other patrons and a gas station attendant. Another customer, driving a Subaru Forester, approached and instructed the attendant to revoke Aguilar's membership, which upset Aguilar. She initially chased the Subaru on foot before returning to her car and following it to a nearby intersection. There, Aguilar exited her vehicle, approached the Subaru while the driver remained seated, and punched her in the head. Aguilar also scratched the woman's face and chest while grabbing her clothing. The Subaru driver then retrieved an ax multitool from her vehicle and fought back, striking Aguilar in the face and arms. Both women suffered lacerations, after which the Subaru driver fled the scene. Officers responded to the intersection, transported Aguilar to a hospital for treatment, and subsequently arrested her. She was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where a judge ordered her held without bond. Aguilar's next court date was not specified in available records.
