Giannis Antetokounmpo sinks buzzer-beater in Bucks' win over Pacers

Giannis Antetokounmpo hit a fadeaway jumper at the buzzer to give the Milwaukee Bucks a 117-115 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Monday night. The thrilling road win came after the Pacers tied the game with 14.5 seconds left. Antetokounmpo finished with 33 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.

The Bucks trailed by 11 points late in the game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, but Indiana mounted a 17-6 run capped by Aaron Nesmith's bucket to tie it at 115 with 14.5 seconds remaining. Undeterred, Antetokounmpo backed down Nesmith, rose over a double-team and drained the game-winner, securing Milwaukee's fifth win in seven games.

Antetokounmpo, who improved to 5-2 with the Bucks, shot 14-of-21 from the field for his fifth 30-point performance in six outings. This marked his sixth career game-winner in the final 10 seconds, counting regular season and playoffs, and his second buzzer-beater. "You can live if you miss," Antetokounmpo said postgame. "You cannot live if you don’t shoot it."

The matchup added to a heated rivalry, with three of the teams' last eight meetings featuring a game-tying or winning shot in the final five seconds—two from Indiana's Tyrese Haliburton and one from Antetokounmpo. For the Pacers, Pascal Siakam led with 32 points and eight assists, while Myles Turner, in his first game back in Indiana, contributed nine points, seven rebounds, five blocks and two 3-pointers.

This victory avenged the Pacers' last-second win over Milwaukee in the 2024-25 playoffs first round, keeping the drama alive in the series.
