Meghan Trainor cancels 'Get In Girl' tour amid family and album commitments

Meghan Trainor has canceled her upcoming 'Get In Girl' tour, announced last November, to prioritize her family—including her third child born in January—and the release of her new album 'Toy With Me.' The 32-year-old singer shared the decision in an Instagram Story on April 16, apologizing to fans and promising a return.

In an Instagram Story post on April 16, Trainor explained: "After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel The Get In Girl Tour. Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now, and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time." She added, "I know this will come as a disappointment to my fans, and I am so sorry to let you down. But I know this is the right decision for my family and me right now. I promise I’ll be back soon, and I can’t wait for you to hear this new record."

'Toy With Me,' Trainor's seventh studio album via Epic Records, is set for release on April 24 and features singles “Get In Girl,” “Still Don’t Care,” and “Shimmer.” The tour was slated to begin June 12 in Clarkston, Michigan, with around 30-33 shows across North America, including Madison Square Garden in New York and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. Openers included Icona Pop and Trainor's brother Ryan Trainor. Tickets have been removed from Ticketmaster, with automatic refunds to follow.

Trainor and husband Daryl Sabara welcomed daughter Mikey Moon Trainor via surrogate in January, joining sons Riley, 4, and Barry, 2. The announcement follows Trainor's recent comments on the 'Not Gonna Lie' podcast addressing criticism of her weight loss and surrogate choice, with Sabara defending the family: "Everyone can suck our a**."

Was die Leute sagen

Initial reactions on X to Meghan Trainor's cancellation of the 'Get In Girl' tour are mixed but predominantly skeptical, with many users claiming low ticket sales as the true cause rather than family and album commitments. Fans express disappointment and heartbreak over missed shows, while a minority support her prioritizing her third child and new album 'Toy With Me'. Media accounts share neutral reports of the announcement.
