Mets end 12-game losing streak but Lindor hurts calf

The New York Mets defeated the Minnesota Twins 3-2 at Citi Field on Wednesday night, snapping a 12-game losing streak. Shortstop Francisco Lindor exited in the fourth inning with left calf tightness after going 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Reliever Luke Weaver earned the win with 1 1/3 scoreless innings.

At Citi Field, the Mets broke a 12-game skid against the Twins. The game was tied 2-2 entering the bottom of the eighth inning. With runners on first and second and two outs, Mark Vientos hit a blooper that dropped in front of right fielder Matt Wallner, allowing Brett Baty to score the go-ahead run against Justin Topa. Luke Weaver then worked around a two-out single in the ninth for the save opportunity, securing the victory. Mets officials also activated Juan Soto from the injured list that night. The injury to Lindor occurred in the fourth inning. After Francisco Alvarez doubled to right-center against Connor Prielipp, Lindor struggled while running the bases but scored New York's second run. He gingerly returned to the dugout and did not play the top of the fifth. Brett Baty replaced Lindor, shifting to third base, while Bo Bichette moved from third to shortstop, his primary position.
