MLB rivalry weekend begins with 15 three-game series

Major League Baseball is set to highlight its top rivalries this weekend with Rivalry Weekend presented by Booking.com. Every team will play its designated rival in a three-game series starting Friday. The event includes 11 interleague matchups and four regional showdowns.

The Subway Series between the Yankees and Mets at Citi Field opens Friday at 7:15 p.m. ET on Apple TV. Former Yankees closer Clay Holmes is scheduled to start for the Mets against his old club, while Amed Rosario makes his first Subway Series appearance as a Yankee. Other notable interleague clashes include the Phillies at the Pirates and the Dodgers at the Angels, where Shohei Ohtani has posted a 1.263 OPS in prior Freeway Series games.
