A collaboration between the Pokémon franchise and Japanese furniture maker Cellutane has introduced the Psyduck Bead Sofa, a large seating piece shaped like the iconic Pokémon character. This new furniture item allows fans to relax in a comfortable, bead-filled design that captures Psyduck's distinctive features. The sofa launched on March 11, 2026, coinciding with Pokémon's 30th anniversary celebrations.
The Psyduck Bead Sofa brings the beloved Water-type Pokémon into living rooms through a partnership between the global Pokémon brand and Cellutane, a Japanese manufacturer known for unique seating based on popular characters. Psyduck, first appearing in the original 1996 Pokémon video games, is recognized for its yellow duck-like appearance, constant headaches, confused expression, and occasional psychic abilities. The sofa meticulously replicates these traits, including three sprigs of black hair, a wide beak, and a tail detailed on the back for viewing from any angle.
Cellutane emphasizes comfort in the design, filling the interior with a mix of highly elastic urethane foam and tiny polystyrene beads to provide a supportive, conforming structure. The piece includes a sturdy backrest and armrests for extended relaxation. Measuring 92 centimeters wide, 90 centimeters deep, and 79 centimeters tall, the sofa weighs about 10 kilograms, making it movable for cleaning or rearrangement. Its outer cover is fully removable and machine washable to maintain the bright yellow fabric.
This launch follows Cellutane's previous Pokémon-inspired products, such as those featuring Gengar, Rowlet, and Sizzlipede. The Psyduck Bead Sofa is available for purchase at 28,400 yen, approximately $190 USD or £150 GBP, directly from Cellutane's online store. The interior padding is produced in Japan, aligning with the manufacturer's focus on quality materials and domestic manufacturing.
