Slazenger Padel opens new club in Blackburn

A new Slazenger Padel club has opened in Blackburn, featuring nine premium courts and facilities for both padel and pickleball. The 30,000 sq ft venue marks the brand's expansion amid growing demand for the sport. Plans include at least 10 more clubs in 2026.

The Slazenger Padel club in Blackburn launched over the weekend, offering a multi-purpose space dedicated to racquet sports. Spanning 30,000 sq ft, the facility includes nine premium panoramic padel courts, expert coaching for all skill levels, a Members Bar, social areas, a pro shop, and equipment hire. Notably, it introduces two dedicated pickleball courts, a first for the Slazenger Padel portfolio, aiming to attract broader audiences.

This opening builds on recent launches, such as the Leeds club in October 2024 and the Swindon site in December 2025. A spokesman for Slazenger Padel highlighted the sport's rise: “Padel has experienced an incredible trajectory over the past few years. It’s a highly social sport and a relevant younger brother of tennis, appealing to a wide array of demographics making it a natural fit for our audiences. Slazenger has long been synonymous with elite racquet sports, and building on its heritage in tennis, padel represents a powerful next chapter for the brand. Through Slazenger Padel, we believe we can grow Slazenger’s brand identity and improve the experience we deliver across the UK.”

The expansion aligns with Frasers Group’s strategy to invest in sports innovation and community engagement, including sponsorship of the Hexagon Cup 2026. Slazenger Padel aims to open at least 10 new clubs next year, reaching around 150 courts nationwide. The Blackburn club is located at Haslingden Road, Blackburn, Lancashire, BB1 2EE, and is open to visitors today.
