The Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers have announced several roster adjustments in preparation for their Week 10 Sunday Night Football matchup. Both teams are addressing depth needs at key positions amid injuries and special teams requirements. The game is set for Sunday in Pittsburgh.
As the Pittsburgh Steelers prepare to host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football in Week 10, both teams have made targeted roster moves to bolster their lineups.
The Chargers activated long snapper Josh Harris, defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand, and defensive back Deane Leonard from injured reserve. Harris, in his 14th NFL season, returns after missing the year so far but serving as the team's long snapper for the previous three seasons. Hand, an eight-year veteran, started five games this season before his injury, recording 10 tackles, one sack, one pass defensed, and three tackles for loss. Leonard provides special teams depth and cornerback support, especially with Tarheeb Still listed as doubtful.
To address running back depth with Najee Harris out for the season and Omarion Hampton recovering from injured reserve, the Chargers elevated Jaret Patterson and Trayveon Williams from the practice squad. Patterson has appeared in two games this year, rushing 20 times for 74 yards on 33 snaps. Williams, a former Cincinnati Bengal familiar to the AFC North, brings special teams experience from nearly 900 career snaps despite limited carries.
On the Steelers' side, they promoted running back Trey Sermon from the practice squad to the 53-man roster after three prior elevations. Sermon has played 28 special teams snaps in three games, including returns for 51 yards on two kickoffs. Inside linebacker Mark Robinson was elevated from the practice squad for special teams duties; the former seventh-round pick has a history of forced fumbles and can back up with Cole Holcomb sidelined by illness. Defensive end DeMarvin Leal was signed back to the practice squad after a midweek waiver, having logged 17 defensive and nine special teams snaps in three games.
These moves aim to provide depth and special teams reliability for the primetime contest.
