A Texas building permit has confirmed that Tesla has installed an autonomous cleaning robot at its Austin Robotaxi facility. The system is designed to service Cybercab vehicles between rides without human involvement.
The permit, filed in June 2025 and closed in March 2026, covers work at 5900 E Ben White Blvd. It lists a cleaning robot alongside Supercharger cabinets and an equipment inspection system.
Tesla first demonstrated the robot in a January 31, 2025 video. The machine features a robotic arm with interchangeable attachments that vacuum debris, remove trash, and wipe surfaces inside Cybercab cabins.
The Ben White site sits about 12 miles southwest of Gigafactory Texas. It is intended to serve as the main hub where vehicles return to charge, clean, and inspect before returning to service.
By mid-March 2026, Cybercabs had been observed on roads in Austin and Silicon Valley. Robotaxi operations had expanded across the Austin metro area and into Dallas.
