Jer Auntey Pleasant was sentenced to four concurrent 50-year prison terms for murdering two men he lured via a dating app, along with charges of aggravated robbery and sexual assault. The crimes spanned from 2022 to 2023 in San Antonio. Evidence including fingerprints and ballistics linked him to the killings.
In San Antonio, Texas, 25-year-old Jer Auntey Pleasant's criminal activities began in March 2022 when he used the Grindr dating app to meet a victim, resulting in a shooting during a robbery attempt, according to the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney's Office.
That July, DNA evidence identified Pleasant as the perpetrator in the aggravated sexual assault of a 13-year-old child.
His pattern continued into 2023. Posing as "Derek" on Grindr, Pleasant arranged to meet 54-year-old Larry Wilson at the Banyan Tree Apartments on April 14, 2023, where he fatally shot him. The next day, April 15, 22-year-old Joseph West was found in his apartment with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
Investigators connected the cases through key evidence: Pleasant's fingerprints on condom wrappers at both scenes and ballistics confirming the same firearm was used.
On Friday, March 7, 2026, Pleasant received four 50-year sentences—to run concurrently—for the murders, aggravated robbery, and aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Larry Wilson's brother, Johnny Wilson, expressed skepticism shortly after the April 2023 killing, telling local media, "I feel in my heart he was set up. Them dating apps nowadays. You've got to watch out. It can be setups."
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office and local authorities swiftly linked the incidents, ensuring Pleasant's conviction based on forensic matches.
