Two firms sell 511 Bitcoin to clear $31.7 million debt

KULR Technology Group and The Smarter Web Company sold roughly 511 Bitcoin in July to repay about $31.7 million in obligations. The moves were voluntary and left both companies with large remaining Bitcoin holdings.

KULR Technology Group sold approximately 333 Bitcoin between July 9 and July 23 at a weighted average price of $64,538. The US-listed battery technology firm used the net proceeds to clear its $20 million Coinbase Credit facility.

The Smarter Web Company, a UK-listed web services group, sold exactly 177.8909127 Bitcoin at an average of $65,762. It repaid a zero-coupon convertible note due August 5 at the company's request.

KULR retained about 760 Bitcoin after the transaction, while Smarter Web kept 2,700 Bitcoin. Neither company described the sales as lender-forced liquidations.
