Zendaya and Law Roach debut womenswear collection for On

Actress Zendaya and her stylist Law Roach have launched their first womenswear capsule collection for the Swiss athletic brand On. The seven-piece lineup, which debuts with a Spike Jonze-directed video campaign, emphasizes versatile, interchangeable pieces for everyday movement. Zendaya described the collection as easy-to-wear items that users can customize.

Zendaya, who has collaborated with On for several years, co-designed the collection alongside Law Roach. It includes a tank top, T-shirt, anorak, coach’s jacket, midi skirt, parachute pant, Bermuda short, and a new Cloudnova Moon shoe. The pieces aim to support various forms of movement, from workouts to casual outings, and are meant to be mixed and matched freely, Zendaya said during a recent interview from New York while promoting her film The Drama there. Law Roach joined via Zoom from the set of Project Runway before styling her for a premiere that evening. On began as comfortable shoes Zendaya discovered while filming Challengers, where she played an athlete. Crew members favored them for long hours on set, and the partnership grew organically. Roach noted that they infused a fashion perspective into On's athletic wear, previously geared more toward professional athletes. The duo worked closely with On’s VP of apparel design Tim Coppens, drawing inspirations from personal wardrobes, vintage finds, runway archives, and travels. Roach gathered fabrics and silhouettes from vintage stores and brought them to On’s headquarters in Zurich for fittings. Zendaya emphasized that the collection supports individual movement styles, whether walking dogs, hiking, or attending meetings, allowing wearers to adapt pieces like the parachute pants for different occasions. The launch features a kinetic video by director Spike Jonze, capturing creative experimentation in a playful lab-like setting. Zendaya called it charming and joyful, reflecting the trial-and-error of design. Roach praised On’s collaborative environment, which enabled working with icons like Jonze.
