The Detroit Tigers announced Tuesday that 21-year-old shortstop Kevin McGonigle has made their 2026 Opening Day roster. The MLB Pipeline No. 2 prospect will debut Thursday in the team's season opener in San Diego at 4:10 p.m. ET. Manager A.J. Hinch said McGonigle will play shortstop and third base.
