During Walpurgis Night celebrations in 2026, 15 student rafts capsized in Fyrisån during the traditional rafting in Uppsala. Many capsizes happened involuntarily or deliberately in the rapids. SVT Nyheter captured all the incidents on film.

The Swedish Police Authority has applied for a temporary restricted airspace over parts of Walpurgis Night celebrations in Uppsala from 8:00 a.m. on April 30 to 3:00 a.m. on May 1, 2026. It has also decided on drone camera surveillance in Uppsala center and at Gamla Uppsala högar to prevent crimes and maintain public order. The measures aim to enhance safety during the event.
