A worker dies crushed in an accident at Renfe base in Villaverde

A worker around 30 years old died on Wednesday after being crushed by machinery at Renfe's Integral Maintenance Base in Villaverde, Madrid. Two other workers were injured with fractures.

The incident occurred around 14:20 at the Renfe-Adif facilities. The worker, employed by subcontractor Transervi, was handling a large-volume piece with heavy machinery when he became trapped.

Renfe has expressed condolences to the family and announced an internal investigation to clarify the causes. The Madrid Municipal Police are also investigating through the Judicial Coordination Commissariat.

Emergency services, including SAMUR-Protección Civil, attended to the three involved. The two injured workers had fractures of varying severity and were taken for medical care.
