Premiere Details

ABC revealed its midseason lineup on October 28, 2025, slotting Scrubs Season 10 to air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. following the conclusion of Shifting Gears. The two-episode premiere on February 25, 2026, will pair the medical comedy with Abbott Elementary. A first-look photo shows JD (Zach Braff) and Turk (Donald Faison) running through Sacred Heart's halls, recreating their signature "Eaaaaaagle!" celebration.

Returning Cast

Series creator Bill Lawrence aims to update the original ensemble's status. Confirmed series regulars include Braff as JD, Faison as Turk, and Chalke as Elliot. Judy Reyes returns as Carla in a recurring role, joined by John C. McGinley as Dr. Cox. Potential appearances from Neil Flynn (The Janitor) and Ken Jenkins (Dr. Kelso) are hoped for, per Lawrence. Guest stars Robert Maschio (The Todd) and Phill Lewis (Hooch) are also set.

New Additions and Behind-the-Scenes

The revival introduces a new class of interns: Ava Bunn as Serena, Jacob Dudman as Asher, David Gridley as Blake, Layla Mohammadi as Amara, and Amanda Morrow as Dashana. Recurring roles go to Vanessa Bayer as wellness program director Sibby and Joel Kim Booster as Dr. Eric Park. Aseem Batra serves as showrunner after Tim Hobert's departure due to creative differences. Season 9 characters like Kerry Bishé's Lucy may guest star.

Plot Overview

The story picks up with JD and Turk reuniting at Sacred Heart, exploring how medicine and their friendship have evolved over 15 years. ABC's logline states: "JD and Turk scrub in together for the first time in a long time. Medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way." Lawrence emphasized portraying the characters as older doctors facing a transformed healthcare system while mentoring new talent.
