These will be the final two ceremonies airing on ABC from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood before a move to YouTube and the Peacock Theater in 2029. The Academy also released the key dates for the 2027 awards season.
The 99th Oscars ceremony will air live at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide. The 100th edition marks the centennial of the awards, with both shows broadcast from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. Starting with the 101st Oscars in 2029, the ceremony will shift to YouTube and relocate to the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles through 2039, as previously announced by the Academy. The 2026-2027 Oscars season timeline begins with the eligibility period on Thursday, January 1, 2026. Key milestones include the final submission deadline on November 12, 2026; Governors Awards on November 15; preliminary voting from December 7 to 11; shortlists announcement on December 15; nominations voting from January 11 to 15, 2027, with announcements on January 21; nominees luncheon on February 16; and final voting from February 25 to March 4, culminating in the March 14 ceremony. This year's Oscars drew 17.86 million viewers, a 9% decline from 19.7 million the previous year, with Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” winning best picture. Upcoming contenders include Ryan Gosling’s “Project Hail Mary,” Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Three” with Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, and Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s “Digger” starring Tom Cruise. No host has been announced for the upcoming shows.
