Tom Beck, known from the series 'Alarm für Cobra 11', suffered a bitter loss in Berlin. His 32-year-old mountain bike, received as a gift from his parents at Easter 1993, was stolen. In an Instagram story, the 47-year-old expressed his sadness: 'My bike is gone. I am very sad.'
Beck wavers between resignation and hope. He initially said he didn't believe the bike would turn up again. Then he added: 'Maybe the person just wanted a little joyride.' He urged Berliners to keep their eyes open and report if they see 'this very conspicuous neon green bike' anywhere.
The bicycle accompanied Beck almost accident-free through extended stays in Munich, Cologne, and eight years in Berlin. The theft highlights a widespread problem in the capital: According to police, around 24,000 bike thefts were recorded last year. The clearance rate is low, and few owners get their bikes back.
