Alex Albon will surpass Nigel Mansell as Williams' most experienced Formula 1 driver this weekend in Barcelona. He plans to mark the milestone with a special helmet tribute to the 1992 world champion.
Albon enters the Spanish Grand Prix tied with Mansell on 95 starts for the team. The race marks his 96th appearance with Williams after joining in 2022. The Thai-British driver will wear a blue, white and red helmet design similar to the one Mansell used during his title-winning season. Albon called the achievement a privilege and credited the team's efforts across five seasons. Mansell praised Albon's commitment and said he expects the driver to make many more starts for Williams. The team currently sits eighth in the championship with 11 points after six rounds.
