Gold purchase transactions are subject to Income Tax (PPh) Article 22 under Ministry of Finance Regulation (PMK) No. 34/PMK.10/2017, at 0.45 percent for holders of Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) and 0.9 percent for non-NPWP holders. Every purchase includes a tax withholding receipt.
For buyback sales exceeding Rp10 million, PPh Article 22 applies at 1.5 percent for NPWP holders and 3 percent for those without. This tax is deducted directly from the total buyback value. The price drop reflects fluctuations in the precious metals market influenced by global factors, though gold investment remains a safe option amid economic uncertainty.
