Arvid Bergström has joined Tingsryd AIF after a strong season in Denmark. The 21-year-old defenseman returns to Swedish hockey following his time with Odense Bulldogs.
The move comes after Bergström's contract with the Danish champions expired. Odense announced in the spring that it would not extend his deal, leaving the player as a free agent.
Tingsryd confirmed the signing on its website and praised his skills. "In Arvid we get a mobile and skilled defenseman with great strengths in puck play," the club stated.
Bergström developed through Djurgården's youth system before moving to Odense last summer. In 40 games there he recorded 32 points, ranking among the league's top young defensemen.
