Bazooka! Fest to return to Brooklyn next month

The independent Bazooka! Fest is set to return to Brooklyn on August 22 and 23. Destroyer’s Dan Bejar and Stephin Merritt will headline the event at the Meadows and the Wood Shop.

Additional performers include Joanna Sternberg, Times New Viking, Sad13, Kiwi Jr., 2nd Grade, Josephine Network, Asher White, Chime School, Trinket, Love, Burns, Hang Him to the Scales, The Alaskas, Little Chair, Cloud Nothings, Colleen Green, Winston Hightower, PARKiNG, TV Buddha, Uniflora, Lex Walton, Great Lakes, Giant Day, Garment District, $500, Vivian, Sleeper Fence, Sunshine Convention.

The festival was founded by Jake Whitener, a former Matador A&R director. It launched in 2025 with performers including Elf Power, the Moles, Pains of Being Pure at Heart, and James McNew of Yo La Tengo.

In a statement, Whitener said the event draws from festivals like All Tomorrow’s Parties and Athens Pop Fest. He described it as a way to celebrate underground rock and pop with iconic artists in smaller venues alongside emerging bands.

This year’s edition continues that approach with a mix of established and new acts.
