Binance has notified European Union customers that it will suspend some services starting July 1 because it will not hold a MiCA license by the deadline.
The world's largest crypto exchange by trading volume told users in countries including France, Italy, Poland and Spain that it cannot meet the July 1 authorization requirement under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation.
Binance withdrew its license application in Greece on June 24 and said it will seek approval in another member state, with France reported as the likely next location. The company stated it remains confident of securing a MiCA license in the coming months.
Users were informed that their assets remain safe and accessible during the transition. New registrations in the bloc have already been halted.
ESMA guidance issued on June 23 requires unlicensed providers to limit activity after the deadline to orderly exits, transfers and custody only.
