Cali's Mobility Secretariat restored 14 traffic light intersections on July 21 after damage from infrastructure tampering. By the end of the day, 17 crossings remained out of service out of a total of 526.
The Mobility Secretariat reported that the day on Tuesday, July 21, began with 31 intersections out of service. Technical teams recovered seven crossings in the morning and another seven in the afternoon.
Three intersections remain off by authority decision in the Lago de La Babilla and Base Aérea sectors. The remaining 14 will be addressed progressively over the coming weeks.
The damage stemmed from tampering incidents on July 2 and the previous week, which affected around 20 intersections in each event. Subsecretary of Sustainable Mobility Carlos Alberto Santacoloma explained that the controller cards must be sent to a laboratory for repair.
The agency called on citizens to protect road infrastructure and report any vandalism, as these actions disrupt traffic control and pose risks to road users.
