Governor of the Federal District Celina Leão (PP) met with leaders from 12 parties on Saturday night (April 4) to solidify support for her administration and re-election campaign. It was her first such meeting as governor. Attendees included Bia Kicis of PL-DF and Manoel Arruda of União Brasil in DF.
Celina Leão was sworn in as governor of the Federal District on Monday (March 30), following the resignation of Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), who will run for the Senate in October.
On Saturday night (April 4), she held her first meeting with leaders from parties supporting her government: União, MDB, PL, Republicanos, Podemos, Cidadania, Mobiliza, Democratas, DF, PRTB and Agir. Celina emphasized the alliance's importance, stating: “São 12 partidos e isso representa muito. Foi uma construção que fiz com cada um deles a partir de muitos anos de trabalho e de aliança. Hoje foi um dia de agradecer”.
At the meeting, the governor aligned candidate slates for pre-candidates and outlined projects for the coming months. “Falei o que tenho em mente e todos têm perspectiva de ajudar na gestão com ações eficientes”, she said. The parties are set to back her re-election campaign.
Key attendees included PL-DF president Bia Kicis and União Brasil DF president Manoel Arruda.
