Firaxis will release a free update for Civilization 7 next week that includes hotseat multiplayer and other requested features. The 1.4.1 patch arrives during the week of June 22.
Almost 18 months after the game's launch, developer Firaxis continues its updates to address player feedback. The new patch adds hotseat multiplayer, allowing local play on one device.
It also introduces a revamped Archipelago map style that uses advanced Voronoi generation. The previous version remains available as Archipelago Hemispheres.
Additional changes include overhauls to Governments, Happiness, and Celebrations systems. These add new stages, passives, and traditions that carry across ages.
Alongside the free update, the first part of the paid Brush & Blade content collection launches. It features new leader Toyotomi Hideyoshi along with Heian Japan and Sengoku Japan civilizations.
