Compromising chats revealed in ninth day of Cecilia Strzyzowski trial

In the ninth hearing of the trial for Cecilia Strzyzowski's femicide, experts presented chats showing the Sena family's efforts to hide evidence and align stories. Urgent messages to remove items from the home and an attempt to contact the governor during a raid were exposed. Tension arose over a letter Emerenciano Sena's sister tried to deliver in prison.

The jury trial for Cecilia Strzyzowski's femicide, which occurred on June 1, 2023, progressed on its ninth day Friday, with testimonies from Chaco Police revealing chats extracted from cell phones of Emerenciano Sena, Marcela Acuña, and Fabiana González. Officer Sergio Esquivel detailed conversations from June 2 to 9, 2023, showing maneuvers after the disappearance.

On June 2, Marcela Acuña messaged Fabiana González at 16:51: “Fabi, creo que sucedió algo grave con César, no le digas a Eme ni a César, estoy desesperada”. She urgently requested removing “that” from the Santa María de Oro home before 19:30, referring to “the garbage under the stairs,” with Gustavo Obregón's help. Rita Romero told Fabiana: “Todo arañado. El cuello de César. Lastimado mal”. On June 7, César Sena told his mother: “Ojalá esto sirva de algo y la encuentren, mami. Con que ella aparezca yo soy feliz y podré dormir tranquilo; hasta entonces solo queda rezar”.

Inés Carranza from the Institute of Medicine and Forensic Sciences confirmed blood found in the Sena home matches 99.99% with Gloria Romero's DNA, Cecilia's mother: “Al cotejar los perfiles buscando vínculos, establecimos que Gloria Romero es madre de ese NN que se halló”.

On June 9, during a raid, Acuña asked González to contact Jorge Capitanich: “Apúrale a Coqui que lo tienen a Emerenciano secuestrado”. Subcommissioner David De León testified about a July 4, 2023, seizure when Marcelina Sena tried to pass a letter to Emerenciano with instructions like “Empezá a hacer show… que hagas bajar tu azúcar así apuramos la domiciliaria” and “No hagas ningún tipo de declaración… si Marcela declara, se hunden los tres”. This sparked disputes over chain of custody and accusations of witness imprecision.

The accused are César Sena as perpetrator, Marcela and Emerenciano Sena as necessary participants, and Gustavo Melgarejo and Griselda Reinoso for cover-up. On June 27, bone remains were found in Río Tragadero near the Sena farm, with no extractable DNA.
