Ethiopia's Minister of Planning and Development, Dr. Fitsum Assefa, stated that corridor development work is improving the living conditions of Arsi residents. Five residential buildings were inaugurated in Dara Wereda of the Sidama Region.
Addis Ababa, March 8, 2026 – Ethiopia's Minister of Planning and Development, Dr. Fitsum Assefa, has stated that corridor development initiatives are enhancing the living conditions of residents in the Arsi area.
This announcement came during the inauguration of five residential buildings as part of corridor development projects in Dara Wereda, Sidama Region. The event was attended by Sidama Region President Desta Ledamo, senior officials, and invited guests.
Dr. Fitsum Assefa noted that her ministry, along with its affiliated institutions, is implementing various bee-keeping service programs across different parts of the country. The newly inaugurated buildings form part of these bee-keeping services. They are described as modern and equipped with essential facilities, including training rooms, crop and fruit cultivation areas, alternative energy sources, and clean water supplies, addressing other basic needs.
The ministry expressed commitment to expanding such efforts and continuing similar projects. Officials emphasized the government's focused work to improve the livelihoods of Arsi residents.
