The L.A. County Medical Examiner has confirmed that former child star Daveigh Chase died from Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, with chronic polysubstance use listed as a significant condition.
The manner of death was ruled natural. Chase, known for roles in Lilo & Stitch and The Ring, passed away on June 16 at age 35.
Her boyfriend Roy Hernandez had initially told outlets she died from complications related to meningitis and sepsis. The medical examiner's report overrides that account.
Friends had searched Skid Row after she vanished from public view. She spent her final years living in an RV before hospitalization.
Us Weekly first reported the cause, which followed years of reported painkiller addiction after a 2016 motorcycle crash.
