Drake posted a message on Instagram on June 19 expressing gratitude for Tay Keith's contributions to music. "Endless and eternal gratitude for your spirit and your contributions to this thing that we all love so much," the rapper wrote. "You will be deeply missed."
Tay Keith, whose full name is Brytavious Chambers, died on June 18. Metro Nashville Police conducted a welfare check at his apartment after he was found unresponsive. His cause of death has not been announced.
His family confirmed the passing in a statement, describing him as a visionary producer and cultural force. They noted his work shaped hit records and supported emerging artists through his company Drumatized. Memorial arrangements will be shared later.
Keith earned multiple Billboard Hot 100 hits and held the record for the most No. 1s on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart this decade.
