Dresdner SC secures workmanlike win in Hamburg

The women's volleyball team of Dresdner SC fulfilled their obligatory task in the Bundesliga against promoted ETV Hamburger Volksbank Volleys. Despite some difficulties, they prevailed 3:1. The victory came after 103 minutes.

In the Volleyball Bundesliga, Dresdner SC celebrated a workmanlike victory against promoted ETV Hamburger Volksbank Volleys in Hamburg. Coach Alexander Waibl's team won 3:1 (25:17, 25:19, 31:33, 25:14) in front of 691 spectators.

The Dresden favorites took the first set convincingly 25:17 against the engaged and courageous hosts. In the second set, the Hamburg players around former beach player Leonie Körtzinger offered more resistance, but Dresden prevailed 25:19.

In the third set, however, the Dresden team produced many errors and acted passively. The Hanseatic women fended off an opponent's match point and converted their eighth set point for a 33:31 win and a 1:2 tie.

In the fourth set, the visitors upped their game: They played more concentrated and pressuring in all areas and minimized errors. Marta Levinska converted the match point for the deserved victory and was named the most valuable DSC player.

The match lasted 103 minutes and highlighted the obligatory task for DSC.
