Egypt and Türkiye have concluded the joint air exercise Anatolian Eagle 2026 at a Turkish air base. The drills involved air forces from Egypt, Türkiye and Azerbaijan along with a NATO airborne early warning aircraft.
The exercise ended on 8 July 2026 after several days of training. Closing activities were attended by Egyptian Air Force Commander Amr Saqr, Head of the Armed Forces Training Authority Sherif El-Arayeshi and senior military officials from participating countries.
Aircraft conducted joint sorties that included simulated strikes on hostile targets, defence of critical infrastructure, interception of unmanned aerial vehicles, aerial refuelling and close air support for ground forces.
The Egyptian Armed Forces described the drills as part of a programme to strengthen military cooperation and enhance combat readiness with friendly nations.
