Emily Kinney will return as Beth in Season 3 of the AMC series The Walking Dead: Dead City. The news was announced during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
The episode featuring Kinney takes place in an alternate reality. Lauren Cohan, who stars as Maggie, said the production team was glad that Kinney wanted to come back for the role.
Kinney commented that she had no idea she would get another chance to play Beth. Cohan also advised viewers to get tissues ready for the upcoming installment.
Kinney originally played Beth across four seasons of the main The Walking Dead series before the character died in Season 5. Season 3 of The Walking Dead: Dead City is scheduled to premiere on July 26 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
