The Argentine government appointed Fabián Fernández as secretary of communication and press, replacing Javier Lanari. The move comes as Manuel Adorni faces a judicial investigation into his wealth.
The executive branch formalized the appointment of Fabián Fernández, 35, former communications head at Lanús municipality and YPF, to support new presidential spokesperson Adrián Ravier. Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni announced Javier Lanari’s departure after two and a half years in the post.
The restructuring aims to distance the press area from the wealth scandal surrounding Adorni. Fernández worked under Guillermo Garat, former partner of adviser Santiago Caputo.
Meanwhile, the opposition is advancing in Congress with requests to summon Adorni for questioning. Senators agreed that 37 votes are needed in the Senate to call him on Thursday.
