Floods submerge 12 RT in South Jakarta due to heavy rain

Twelve rukun tetangga (RT) in Petogogan Ward, Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta, were flooded to 20 cm deep due to heavy rain and Kali Krukut overflow. The DKI Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that heavy rain hitting the capital and surrounding areas on Saturday, May 2, 2026, caused the Kali Krukut river to overflow. As a result, 12 RT in Petogogan Ward, Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta, were flooded with water levels reaching 20 cm.

"Banjir disebabkan curah hujan tinggi dan Luapan Kali Krukut," said Mohamad Yohan, Head of the Data and Disaster Information Center at BPBD DKI Jakarta.

BPBD deployed personnel to monitor flooding conditions across areas. They are coordinating with the Water Resources Agency (Dinas SDA), Public Works Agency (Dinas Bina Marga), and Environmental Sanitation Agency (Dinas Gulkarmat) to pump out water and ensure water barriers function properly.

Yohan urged the public to remain vigilant against potential flooding. "Dalam keadaan darurat, segera hubungi nomor telepon 112. Layanan ini gratis dan beroperasi selama 24 jam non-stop," he said.
