Patricia Campos, the first woman pilot in the Spanish Armed Forces, and her wife were detained after a complaint of abuse filed by their two adopted sons. Both deny the accusations and state that everything is false.
Campos and her wife were detained on Thursday and gave statements at the Massamagrell investigating court over accusations of physical abuse and humiliations of the 12- and 15-year-old minors. The children, adopted in Uganda in 2019, have lived since 2021 in a town north of Valencia and are now under the guardianship of the Generalitat. The former pilot stated that she roundly denies having exercised any type of physical or psychological abuse. We are accused of facts that are absolutely and radically false, she said. In a statement she acknowledged violent behaviors from the sons and claimed that they have been the victims in numerous episodes. The couple's circle reported that they had filed previous complaints against the minors for money thefts and other incidents. Campos insisted that they have always sought solutions with experts and that their family model is contrary to the denounced practices.
